Initial situation: the challenge of parking lot use
Hofer was confronted with an increasing number of third-party parkers. Particularly in summer, the high demand meant that genuine customers were often unable to find a free parking space. In addition, there were conflicts with neighboring properties, whose parking solutions often led to misunderstandings. Hofer therefore needed a scalable, cost-efficient solution that would reduce third-party parking, optimize the use of unused parking spaces and create clear boundaries with neighbouring areas. Previous solutions were expensive and inflexible, which made the requirements even more difficult.
Solution: Tailor-made digital parking space management
With Wemolo, Hofer was able to implement a solution that is designed for efficiency, user-friendliness and profitability:
Camera-based parking space monitoring
A system with state-of-the-art license plate recognition has been installed at all locations. This registers vehicles as they enter and exit and automatically calculates the parking time. This has drastically reduced the number of third-party parkers, which has significantly increased availability for genuine Hofer customers.
Monetization of unused parking spaces
Thanks to Wemolo, unused parking spaces can be rented out via the Booking platform. Customers park for free for up to two hours and have the option to extend their parking time for a small fee. This has resulted in over 50 bookings per location per month, which not only maximizes space utilization but also generates additional revenue.
Intuitive management portal
A central dashboard provides Hofer managers with a real-time overview of parking space usage. This enables flexible management of parking authorizations, detailed utilization analyses and data-based decisions. The administrative effort has been significantly reduced, while efficiency has been considerably increased.
Integration of e-charging stations
A QR code system was introduced for customers with e-vehicles, allowing them to extend their parking time directly at the charging stations. This makes the locations particularly attractive for environmentally conscious customers and underlines Hofer's commitment to sustainability.

The hardware required for parking space management remains the property of Wemolo GmbH for the duration of the contract and is therefore not purchased by you. Wemolo is responsible for the reliable operation of the hardware.
Wemolo can find a solution for almost any parking space. In a non-binding consultation, we will be happy to show you what needs to be considered in your parking area. In principle, clearly recognizable entrances and exits, a power connection (230V) and good data reception (LTE/5G) are advantageous.
The license plate scanners are installed near the driveway. The exact position varies from location to location. Our license plate scanners have a range of up to 100m and can scan a width of approx. 12m. They can therefore be mounted on facades, lamp posts or roofs.
Third-party and long-term parkers who park their vehicles without authorization are detected by our system and automatically receive a penalty notice.
General terms and conditions and information signs are installed in every parking space to draw attention to the fact that this is a customer parking space with a corresponding maximum parking time. The corresponding contractual penalty for non-compliance is also clearly visible. In paid parking areas, these signs are supplemented by others that explain the parking process using the digital system. The signs are large and clearly visible at the entrances and exits and in the parking area. Vehicle owners agree to the T&Cs by driving into the parking lot.
Our digital parking space surveillance uses electronic means to monitor your parking spaces. Cameras use AI-based software to reliably record the license plates of all vehicles - without the need for a barrier.
The use of digital systems makes it possible to optimize parking times. The use of parking spaces is made efficient with the help of parking time limits and long parking times are avoided. The parking time limitation takes place in consultation with your individual needs at your location.
